August 29, 2011 New We’re Going To Party Town
“The sun comes up, the sun goes down
Doesn’t really matter in Party town
They go all day and they go all night
They keep on goin’ until they get it right
Right here in Party town (Yeah, yeah)
They really party down (Yeah, yeah)”
Party Town – Glenn Fry
Let’s face some reality. Since the 1960′s life in America has been an endless party that has spanned 4 decades: 60′s Psychedelic Freedom, 70′s Hedonism, 80′s Greed, The Decade of Me in the 90′s. We’re a decade into the 2000′s and it looks like the wheels are beginning to come off. Downgrades, defaults, unemployment, foreclosure, lost income, technological tyranny, apathy, exhaustion, violence, I could go on.
For those of us who partied a time or two, it shouldn’t come as a great surprise. We know what’s left after the fun; there always a huge mess and someone gets stuck with the job of cleaning it up. Welcome to our brave new world.
Isn’t it time for us to stop using and consuming? Isn’t it time for us to begin rebuilding and recreating our world? Isn’t it time to start serving, giving and building within our families and communities once again? Isn’t it time to stop asking, “What’s in it for me?” and start asking, “Who can I help?”.
We can take charge of our futures if we choose. A different tomorrow is waiting for us. We can change the world if we are willing to work together.
All of us who are a part of Chuck Mason and Blue Reality are committed to help rebuilding. For us it’s not just talk and hollow words. We are going create a new reality by serving within our communities. It’s time to start giving back, and we are going to provide a way for you to serve along with us. And we will make it easy for you. All you will have to do is enjoy some amazing live music at one of CMBR Benefit Shows.
We will be organizing a series of shows that will benefit a worthy person or organization. When you come to celebrate an evening of music, you’ll be helping to actually bring some positive changes to our world. We will start by raising resources for some great people who are doing the hard work within our communities. Your cover charge and any donation you make will go to the evening’s benefit organization. And you will also learn about how you can become more involved if you choose.
CMBR will be having a CD release party for our latest CD You Know It’s Time at Cafe 210 in State College on Saturday September 17th. We want you to be there to celebrate with us and help us raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project. Help us celebrate our CD release and serve our wounded veterans, the brave men and women who have sacrificed do much while serving us!
Hear music from You Know It’s Time at www.bluerealitymusic.net.

October 20, 2010 Are You Techno-Saccharine or Are You Blue?
Are you ready to get Blue? I’m not talking about Penn State or Michigan football, the Democratic Party or even paintball. I’m talking about music, the Blues.
Forget about the tired clichés of sadness or depression given to the Blues. The Blues is more than that. If you listen to the music of Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, or Albert King, you’ll realize in a moment that the Blues is about one very important fact. Blues faces and embraces the pain, joy, sadness, pleasure, loss and anger that is part of this thing we call Life. It doesn’t run, it doesn’t hide. The Blues understands that Life must be engaged to be real.
That’s the purity of the Blues. It doesn’t rely on marketing schemes, ad campaigns or artificial pop realities to communicate and survive. The Blues exists because it communicates the real challenges of being human to us.
That’s important. Technology is disconnecting us from who we are. Facebook isn’t a real relationship and texting is a poor substitute for true communication. The web creates worlds that have little connection with challenges we face everyday. We are easily amused and distracted. We easily buy into the lie that somehow the artificial worlds that have been created for us are real. But if we dwell there too long, we lose the ability to engage.
What does life become if we choose not to deal with the challenges that come our way? Take a look around you. Our systems that we have relied upon are decaying before our eyes. Politicians are bankrupting our nation. Education continues to reach new lows in its ability to teach. Random acts of violence are becoming daily events. Americans’ optimism for the future is at an all time low. And we simply are exhausted. If we continue to disengage, and swim in the distractions of the techno-saccharine world of pop culture, expecting someone else to solve these challenges, we can expect more of the same “reality”.
Are you ready to embrace the challenges and joy that life brings? Are you ready to engage life, ready to live outside the distractions and ready to laugh, hurt, cry, doubt, despair and love? Then welcome to your Blue Reality!
Coming Soon! Life requires hard work, but together we can make a difference…
